Sparks, NV - Learn the art of playing the harp by taking part in a new introductory class offered through the Sparks Parks and Recreation Department. Beverly Colgan, principal harpist for the Reno Philharmonic, will be teaching the course geared for ages 10 and older.

SPARKS LIBRARY TO HOST ART EXHIBIT FEATURING THE WORK OF LOCAL STUDENTS
Sparks, NV - The Sparks Library will host an art exhibit October 10 – November 26, featuring the work of students taking part in the City of Sparks' "Art Start" Watercolor class. Local award-winning artist, Marguerite Crokus, is the instructor for the monthly class. The art exhibit will include 12 pieces highlighting various watercolor styles and subject matter.  Additionally, Crokus will have some of her own work on display.

YOUTH BEGINNER DRAWING CLASS OFFERED IN SPARKS
Sparks, NV - A class tailored for youth wanting to explore their artistic side begins Tuesday, October 7, at the Larry D. Johnson Community Center in Sparks. Artist Scott Harvey will teach ages 8 to 17 the elements of basic contour drawing, drawing in pencil and charcoal, as well as drawing the cube, sphere and cone.

Recreation and administrative employees will switch to four 10-hour days, resulting in a change in the hours of operation, including Friday closures, at the following facilities:
