CURRENT PLANNING
This division is responsible for all development review, plan checking, permitting, and entitlements including planned developments, subdivisions, zone changes, master plan amendments, code amendments, special use permits, variances and regional plan amendments.
ADVANCE PLANNING
Advance planners focus on the long range needs for the community, participate in the regional planning process and other regional programs and committees. In addition, they work on economic development, redevelopment planning, housing, Sparks' annexation program and updating of the City's Master Plan for growth management.
CODE ENFORCEMENT
Is responsible for the general welfare of our community through enforcement of the zoning ordinance and related chapters of the municipal code.
ENGINEERING: DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Engineering Services Division checks subdivision and parcel maps, insures compliance with Design standards (Title 17) and Flood Plain Management, inspects all City projects, answers public inquiries, and implements current GIS technologies (ARC info-based) with digital-ortho maps.
