Building Board of Appeals

PURPOSE:	To review appeals of decisions by the Sparks Building Official regarding interpretations of the Building Code
MEETING SCHEDULE:	Meetings are only scheduled when an appeal is filed
MEETING PLACE:	Community Development Dept. City of Sparks 1675 East Prater Way, Ste. 107 Sparks, NV 89434
TERM OF OFFICE:	Shall serve terms of two years and may be reappointed for up to three terms
GOVERNING AUTHORITY:	SMC 15.105.1
APPOINTING AUTHORITY:	City Council makes appointments to the board with the Building Officials recommendations
NUMBER OF APPOINTEES:	Five Members
QUALIFICATIONS:	Two members must be either a registered professional with architectural experience or a builder or superintendent of building construction with at least ten years experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work). One member must be a registered professional with structural and/or civil engineering experience. One member must be a registered professional with mechanical engineering experience of a mechanical/plumbing contractor with at least ten years of experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work). One member must be either a registered professional with electricial engineering experience or an electrical contractor with at least ten years experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work).
